How to cancel BT Sport
Cancelling some of those pesky subscription services can be a challenge, and that’s not an accident. Don’t let a run-around stop you from saving your hard-earned cash, especially for services that are costing more than just a couple of them… If you’ve decided you no longer want your BT Sport package, we’ve put together this little guide to help you out.
Figuring out how to cancel a subscription can definitely be a frustrating experience, so I’ll keep this post simple and to the point. Read on to see your options for cancelling BT sport by telephone and online.
How to cancel by phone
If in doubt, and if you can bear the sound of a phone on hold, the best way to get in touch with any subscription service is to ring them up. Call me old-fashioned, but talking to a real human being is often the best way to get something sorted.
You can ring up BT to cancel a subscription (other than mobile) from a landline on 08007831401. To do so from outside of the UK, dial: +4471501747714. They’re open every day of the week but with slightly variable hours:
- Monday to Friday from 8 am till 9 pm
- Saturdays from 8 am to 8 pm
- Sundays from 9 am to 6 pm.
Remember to keep your account number close to hand! If you’re not sure what it is, the best place to find it is on your latest bill.
How to cancel online
The trick here is finding that magical ‘cancel subscriptions’ button and it’s not the easiest to get to…
To cancel your BT sport package online, you need to first log in to MyBT. Head to ‘My Products’, then ‘Manage TV and Sport’, then ‘Manage Bt Sport’. From there, you should be able to select ‘Manage Add ons’ and a ‘Cancel Subscriptions’ option should be visible under BT Sport.
Still not working?
If those online steps aren’t working for you, the best thing to do is get in touch with BT ASAP. Cancelling isn’t instant, so the sooner you do it, the more money you’ll save! Try giving them a ring (see above) or get in touch on help forums like this one.
